A QLD Roadworthy Certificate is required when you are selling a vehicle, transferring registration to a new owner, transferring to a QLD registration from another state or territory, or when re-registering a previously unregistered vehicle.

Vehicles that require a roadworthy certificate include cars, motorbikes, trailers (including caravans) and trucks. The inspection covers the basic vehicle safety standards for many components, such as:

  • Seats and Seatbelts
  • Lamps, lighting and electrical components
  • Engine, driveline and emissions
  • Windscreen and wipers
  • Wheels and tires
  • Body and frame of the car
  • Towing couplings, connectors and devices
  • Steering and suspension
  • Brake lining, pedals and components

Big huge thank you shout out to Thorto’s Mobile Mechanic - My Holden Cruze broke down Saturday afternoon at Victoria Point. Brad got it all sorted and fixed for me on Sunday. Brad was extremely mindful of how difficult it would be for me to be without my car for work, etc. Thank you thank you thank you. Would highly recommend this young man who has started his own mechanic business. Efficient, professional, friendly and service with a smile.” - Robyn Farrell
